COSMETOLOGY – 1500 HOURS

|
Cosmetology is an art, science, and a business. It is a program of clearly defined
objectives to train the student in the basic manipulative skills, safety
judgments, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to obtain
licensure and for competency in entry-level positions in cosmetology or
related career fields.

NAIL TECHNOLOGY - 150
CLOCK HOURS
|
|
Nail Care is a program of clearly defined objectives and competencies intended to provide training in all phases of nail care and the application of artificial nails. Students
mastering standard state requirements will be eligible to sit for a state
board examination and upon passing will be ready for immediate employment.

COSMETOLOGY/NAIL
TECHNICIAN INSTRUCTOR – 500 Hours
|
|
The purpose of the Instructor Course is to train the
student in the basic teaching skills, educational judgments, proper work
habits, and desirable attitudes necessary for competency in entry level
employment as an instructor in their respective field. This course gives instruction in the
development of methods of teaching, curriculum design, and laboratory
management. Upon successful completion
of this program, documentation will be submitted to the Virginia Board of
Cosmetology. With the Boards approval
of the documentation the student will be issued a License as an instructor in
the area of their current licensure.

WAX TECHNICIAN COURSE –
115 Hours
|
|
The wax technician course is 115 hours of training in the
processes of body waxing. Students
must master standard state requirements and prove their ability to work
safely with waxing and tweezing procedures before being eligible to sit for
the state board test. Upon passing the
state board theory and practical exam students will then apply for their
license and upon receiving their license they will be ready for immediate
employment.
